The Science

A pharmacological fix for an everyday blur.

Presbyopia isn't a disease - it's the slow stiffening of the lens inside your eye. For the first time, prescription drops can temporarily reverse it.

How the drops work

The new generation of presbyopia drops - including aceclidine (VIZZ) and pilocarpine-based formulations (Vuity, Qlosi) - gently constrict the pupil. A smaller pupil acts like the aperture on a camera, deepening focus so close-up text snaps into view, without compromising distance vision the way readers do.

Effects begin within 15 minutes and last several hours. Crucially, this is a daily prescription - not a permanent change.

Who shouldn't take them.

These drops are powerful - and they aren't for everyone. That's why our intake gates on a recent eye exam and is reviewed by a UK independent prescriber before anything is dispensed.

  • History of retinal detachment or retinal tears
  • High myopia (typically beyond −6.00 D)
  • Active eye inflammation or iritis
  • Narrow-angle glaucoma risk
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Allergy to any drop component
